SABIT NYC kicked off New York Fashion Week friday night with a presentation of their F/W 2011 & S/S 2012 Collections. Held at the Samsung Experience, Designer Shoichi Amemiya executed a simple but yet entertaining show. The event was hosted by “Bosslady” and included a special performance from Eric Sosa & the Maintenance Crew.

The SABIT Label has come along way since the last time we saw them back in March of  2010. The face of SABIT – Swizz Beats put the label in the fore front for A-list celebrities like Chris Brown, lil Wayne, T.I., T-Pain and Mario to take notice to the label. SABIT has  quickly become one of the most influential and sought-after urban brands in the market today. The **Hot Item** is  their Varsity Jackets, which we have seen consistently in every collection. The F/W 11 was our favorite collection this year, their were matching accessories & bags with most looks. The collection gave me very street Tokyo and we definitely look forwardto the future SABIT NYC Collections!

We stop by at Sapphire lounge for the Spring/Summer 2010 look book release party of New York based clothing line SABIT NYC. Established in 2005 and still being very young, SABIT has garnered a quick rise and have been showcased in magazines such as XXL, Complex and The Source. Shoichi Amemiya The man behind the line was once the former director of outerwear at Marc Ecko before venturing out on his own project. He has managed to infuse the quirkiness of Japanese fashion and fuse it with American sensibility to give their customer a unique take on ‘urban fashion’.

The line was presented as a mini film of models wearing unique outerwear paired with graphic tees. Today he can boast the likes of ‘Swizz Beatz’, the current face of SABIT and artist such as P. Diddy, 50 Cent, T.I., Chris Brown, T-Pain, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Ludacris, T.O.K. and Mos Def. The line is also inspired by Tanoshinde a Japanese philosophy meaning “enjoy”. Obviously this philosophy is infused in the collection because everyone seems to be enjoying it and we enjoyed it too!!
